Abstract
200,144. Ransford, R. B., (Smith, W. S.). March 6, 1922. Annealing.-Loading wire or tape is annealed as it is laid round the conductor. The conductor B is passed through the refractory tube A, which is heated by coils wrapped round it, and loading wire D passed through the branch-tube C is wrapped round the conductor by rotating the conductor about its own axis. The tube is preferably filled with a non-oxidizing gas, such as hydrogen or nitrogen.
