Abstract
200,092. Soc. Hardoll. June 27, 1922, [Convention date]. Addition to 194,713. liquid-meters.-The meter described in the parent Specification is modified by the provision of a pressure-actuated piston 2 for operating a balanced cylindrical slide valve 3 which controls the supply to and discharge from the measuring chambers 8, 9. The piston 2 and valve 3 are connected to levers 11, 14 connected by springs 17, and the lever 14 carries the hammer 19 of a bell 20. As a chamber is being filled, the expelled air passes to the other chamber through pipes 28, 26, 27. the communication being closed , when the chamber is completely filler by valves or floats 31, the increasing pressure then serving to actuate the piston 2. The pipe 26 is provided with an air admission valve 29. The Specification, as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a statement that the slide valve 3 may be replaced by a four-way valve, and that the floats 31 may be dispensed with, if the air pipes are of small section. This subject-matter does not appear in the -Specification as accepted.
