Abstract

198,875. Pflager, H. M. May 2, 1922. Underframing of bodies.-In a combined platform and bolster of the type in which the frame casting has integral side sills, centre sills, and end sill, and buffer seats spaced from the longitudinal centre of the casting with draft sills extending from the end sill to the intermediate sill, transverse openings are provided in the draft sills to receive and support transversely-extending buffing springs. The buffing spring 10 is placed in position through openings 15 and 17 in side sill 3 and diagonal strut 8, respectively, and may be supported by the lower edge of the openings 18 provided in the draft sills 16.
