Fourdrinier paper machines.-In a Fourdrinier machine of the type described in the parent Specification, the table 1 is raised at the front by winding drums 34 on trolley units 30, 31 mounted over the table, while the rear edge travels on tracks 39, Fig. 3, placed for the purpose on pedestals 40, 41. The trolley units move along rails 33 to withdraw the table. The feed end of the machine is lifted by cables 4 on winding drums 7 actuated through a clutch from the motor 11, similar means being provided for lifting the head box 16. According to a modification, the table 1 may be moved laterally over tracks 60, Fig. 5, by motor driven endless chains 62 mounted at the side, the table being provided with hook members 69 to engage the upper stretch of the chain. In this arrangement the front edge of the table is not raised. The tracks. 60 may be pivoted to posts 61 and swung into the vertical position when not in use.
