Abstract

337,328. Larmuth, J. H. Feb. 26, 1930. Machines for making.-A rope machine is provided with means for making either a single rope or two ropes simultaneously. The machine, which is of the type having bobbins 33, 34 supported in stationary cradles 7, 8 comprises a rotating tubular member formed in two parts 1, 2 connected together by bolts or other readily removable means, and independent driving means are provided for each section. A lay plate 12, 16 and closing die 27, 28 is provided at each end of the machine, and, when forming two ropes simultaneously, the rope formed by the left hand end is preferably led, as shown in Fig. 3, over pulleys 29, 30 to take-up mechanism at the right-hand end of the machine. Alternatively take-up mecha,- nism may be provided at each end of the machine.
