Abstract

380,802. Moulding conveyer belts. CONTINENTAL GUMMI-WERKE AKT.- GES. and LOGES, A., 100, Valueuwalderstrasse, Hanover, Germany. June 18, 1931, No. 17710. [Class 87 (ii).] A conveyer belt for use in machine tools, e.g. sand-preparing machines, consists of a continuous band of woven material covered with rubber and provided with suction recesses formed by ribs a to hold the work. The recesses are formed in a press consisting of plates d, e the lower of which is provided with guide rails f for the upper. The endless belt is placed in the press with the parts arranged as in Fig.4, and the portion of the belt between the plates is heated. The press is then actuated to form the recesses, and when the operation is completed, it is opened, and the plates d, e displaced so that the plain parts of the belt come between them. These parts are then provided with recesses. In order that the recesses formed in the two operations may be spaced regularly, bars k, l, Fig. 6, are used to extend the plates.
