Folding tables.-The top of a folding-table is constructed of two portions hinged together, and legs hinged to the top have fixed to them diagonal struts hinged together centrally; struts hinged on the underside of the table are detachably fixed to the legs. The struts d on legs b are hinged centrally at d'. Each leg b is pivoted to a strengthening piece h on the table top a so that the weight of the table rests on the pivot pin of the hinge b<2> as shown in Fig. 5. The struts c, hinged to the underside of the table, are connected to the legs by the engagement of a pin on the strut in a socket on the leg, or by a bifurcated end of the strut fitting over a stud on the leg. A cord m may join the legs. The struts d may be metallic and have bolts and winged nuts to fix them at the centre. According to the Provisional Specification, the struts connecting the table top to the legs may be dovetailed into the legs, and wires on these struts may span the legs.
