Abstract

196,812. Townson, E., Telford, J. W., and Howcroft, H. S. April 25, 1922. Lift cages and doors, locking and unlocking and operating.-The handing-chain and the door are locked and unlocked by a single sliding bolt. The bolt B is pointed at one end so as freely to enter an aperture c in the bar C<1> forming part of the handing chain and the other end is shaped to engage a slot d in a bar D on the door connected to the door locking mechanism. A pivoted lever E is kept in engagement with a pin b<2> on the bolt by a spring e<1> and is rocked by the engagement of a roller E<1> with a ramp on the lift to permit a spring (not shown) to move the bolt into the aperture c.
