Vacuum closures; stopper secured by wires.- In a bottle, jar or like closure in which an annular projection on the bottle or stopper engages a flat deformable washer located in recesses in an annular channel in the stopper or bottle, the beaded edge or ring f of the mouth of the bottle &c. is formed of a diameter larger than that of the stopper d, and a recess g is formed either in its flange or in the beaded. edge f or in both to facilitate removal of the stopper. The stopper may be held in place by wires &c. or by atmospheric pressure.
