Abstract

195,746. Gusdorf, H. M. Jan. 4, 1922. Drawings to Specification. Belts and bands.-Comprises a two ply leather driving-belt in which each of the plies is formed of strips of pig skin, the ham end of one strip being joined to ihe shoulder end of the next strip, the two layers or plies being adhesively united with the grain sides in contact so that the flesh sides form the pulley contacting surfaces. For joining the ends of the strips are bevelled on both sides, the bevel on one side being much longer than the other, the longer bevel at the ham end of each strip running from the flesh side and at the shoulder end from the grain side, the strips being joined by cementing together their portions of longer bevel. The slight depressions caused by the short bevels are not filled. The joints in the two layers are staggered.
