Abstract

194,843. Perin, D. W. Jan. 9, 1922. Handling transferable vehicle bodies. -Relates to motor vehicles with removable bodies in which the vehicle body is adapted to run on rails 17, Fig. 1, on a frame on the chassis or on rails 23 on a loading platform 12. In order to ensure lateral and vertical registration of the vehicle rails with those of the platform, the frame is provided with rearwardly-diverging V-shaped recesses 53, Fig. 7, flared inwardly at 54. Wedge blocks 56 are hinged by rule joints to members 57 on the front of the platform and are adapted to enter the recesses 53 when the vehicle is backed against the platform, the parts being locked in position by passing a pin through perforations 55, 58.
