Abstract

194,572. Wild, L. W., and Barfield, E. P. April 12, 1922. Resistance furnaces. - Relates to electric furnaces in which the heating current passes through a loop or bridge-piece of fusible metal located within the furnace, as described in Specification 173,812, the loop fusing on attaining a predetermined temperature and cutting off the current supply, and consists in mounting the loop c in the channel d cut in the bottom, end, or side of the furnace. The channel is preferably covered by a plate of heat-resisting metal such as nickelchrome.
