Abstract

194,514. Pate, G., and Mercer, J. H. Feb. 16, 1922. Winches; driving-gear.-In a winch in which double-reduction spur gear is fitted between the motor shaft and the final worm drive, a single casting forms lubricating casings which enclose the worm and spur gears respectively. The motor shaft 1 drives the worm shaft 13 through the countershaft 4. The lubricant containing casing 6 enclosing the spur gear, is cast integral with the casing 8 enclosing the worm and worm wheel.
