Pile fabric looms; creel - frame arrangements.-Relates to the tuft - tube frames of looms for weaving carpets or other pile fabrics. The metal tuft tubes 12, Fig. 2, are firmly supported so as to be individually replaceable by insertion in the slots &c. 17, Fig. 7, in the sides 15, 16 of a sheet-metal member 15, 16, 18, being interlocked therewith by means of slots 20, Fig. 8, or indentations 22 in raised portions of the tubes. The member 15, 16, 18 may be screwed to a wooden carrier-bar 1 or to a hollow sheet-metal carrier-bar or may be replaced by a member 25, 26, Fig. 13, which also serves as a carrier-bar. When a wooden carrier-bar is used, it may be provided with a protecting-strip 30, Fig. 5, to prevent chafing of the yarn. This strip may be secured by means of a separate screw as shown, or by the screw used for securing the member 15, 16, 18. To secure the wooden carrier-bars to the end brackets 2, Fig. 2, the bars are fitted between parallel ears or wings 2<a>, 2<b> and screws passed through the wings 2b are screwed into tapped openings in the wings 2a. Protective wings or plates 2<c> may also be used.
