Abstract

317,596. Cowell, A. G. July 6, 1928. Pile-fabric looms.-In a loom for weaving chenille fabrics &c. as described in Specification 785/06, an outer comb-like member is moved vertically to engage between the warp threads and is then given a short transverse reciprocation to release any pile caught between them. This member 8 has longitudinal ribs 8<b> bearing against the member 7<a>, the assembly being carried on rods &c. 12, which also guide the member 8 when it is traversed by a projection 15 and a spring 16 as the assembly moves vertically. The outer teeth may also guide the ground warp 11 into engagement with the inner teeth 7; or they may be spaced differently and the outer teeth made of fine gauge spring steel to allow them to bend and spring over the warp. One or both comb-like members may be inverted.
