Abstract

338,661. Chadwick, G. Oct. 1, 1929. Checking shuttles and pickers. - A picker buffer is constructed from a combination of hard and soft materials, the soft material projecting from each end of the buffer forming rings which act as a cushion and are held in position by the hard material which also forms the bearing surface for the picker spindle. The buffer shown in Figs. 3 and 4, is formed by passing the ends a of a looped raw hide strip A through a transverse slot in a piece of soft chrome leather B and subsequently adding a strip of tanned leather C which is secured by means of tacks, rivets or lacing, the lower portions b<1> of the soft leather strip being cut away to leave the tubular parts projecting.
