Abstract

193,535. Whitworth, E. Dec. 2, 1921. Vaporizing-apparatus; flame protectors; overflow fittings.-In a vapour burning lamp or stove, a base a connected to the fuel supply pipe or reservoir and carrying the burner nipple f is connected by an oil tube or tubes c and a vapour tube or tubes e to the vaporizer, being closed at the bottom by a plug h. When the plugs h are removed the tubes c, e are open to a common chamber b in the base a and may be easily cleaned. The vapour passage may be regulated by a valve b, Fig. 2. A tray j is fitted below the valve to catch any leakage. In the burner shown in Fig. 4 a flame guard n attached to a removable support o is hung on the vaporizer or carried on indentations in the tubes. A wire gauze filter l, Fig. 6, secured by a spring m may be fitted in the base a to filter the oil supply. A similar filter may also be arranged between the vaporizer and burner nipple.
