Atmospheric vapour burners; vaporizing-apparatus.-In an atmospheric vapour lamp or stove, a nipple is arranged in a chamber immediately beneath and communicating with a mixing-tube and provided with a detachable or removable cover to allow access to the nipple for cleaning purposes, a stepped portion of the base of the chamber providing an airinlet, which is always open and which admits air below the level of the nipple. In one form, a nipple 7 projects through an opening in the case of a chamber 8 fixed to a mixing-tube 6. A spirally coiled vaporizing-tube 5 and the mixing-tube 6 are surrounded by a cylindrical metal casing 14, an open side of the chamber 8 being arranged to project through, or come opposite to, an opening in the casing. A cover 9, provided with an operating-knob 13, is arranged to slide within guides or is carried by an arm, hinged to an attachment plate secured to the casing 14, for closing the open side of the chamber 8. The base of the chamber is stepped adjacent the open side forming an air-inlet 10 which extends below the lower edge of the cover 9.
