Abstract

125,722. Kitson, A., Noblett, A., and Kitson Empire Lighting Co. April 17, 1918. Vapour burners. - In atmospheric vapour-burning lamps and stoves, the vapour outlet 5, which is preferably of trefoil form in cross section, is made considerably larger than usual, and is kept free from being clogged by a needle or pricker 11 mounted on a hollow or solid float or plunger 9 housed in a chamber 7 in the nipple 1, the float or plunger being actuated automatically by the pressure of the vapour supply to keep the outlet 5 clear. The opposite end of the float or plunger may be formed as a valve 9' adapted to close the vapour inlet 6, either under the action of gravity, as in the arrangement shown, or of a return spring, when the lamp &c. is put out of use. The application of the invention to blowlamps is described and illustrated in the Specification.
