Abstract

192,370. Tremblay, H. G. Jan. 24, 1922, [Convention date]. Expanding-pulley gearing comprises a double intermediate pulley 1, 2 movable automatically in the line of the driving and driven belts 9, 10 to vary the speed. The outer flanges of the double pulley 1, 2 are secured to a shaft 3, while the inner flanges are preferably formed upon a solid doubly-coned member 5, which slides on a feather on the shaft 3. The shaft 3 is carried by a frame 4 which slides controlled by a spring 15 for the automatic variation. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a non-automatic arrangement in which the frame 4 is moved positively, as by manually-operated eccentrics. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
