Abstract

191,881. Potter, G. H. Nov. 7, 1921. Frames; joints and connections. - An angle plate or bracket, of general application, but adapted more particularly for joining the rails to the legs of tables, comprises two perpendicular portions 2, 3, the latter being secured by screws 18 to the inner side of the. leg 5 and the former having its edges bent over to form flanges 6, 7, which are extended beyond the part 3, the latter in an oblique direction as shown in Fig. 4. The legs 5 and the rail 1 respectively are provided with recesses 9, 14, and 15, 16, to receive the bent-over portions 6, 7 which are secured by screws 11, 12, 13. A simple mortise and tenon joint may be employed between the rail 1 and leg 5 and a beading 17 may be fixed to the bottom of the rail to hide the oblique portion 7 and the slot 14.
