Counters and like stands.-A knock-down glass counter or showcase &c. comprises top and bottom frames 1, 2 consisting of separate front, back, and side rails 5, 7, 6 of channeled section metal to receive glass panels, separate channeled corner standards 3, 4 and means whereby the whole may be assembled by bolts extending through the parts 3, 4. Each rail 5 -7 has a depending flange 8 lying against the side surface of a wooden base 9 which may be covered with parquet &c. at 10. The rails 5, 6 have single grooves but the rail 7 has a double groove to receive two sliding glass doors or panels which preferably run on rollers 13. The top and side rails 14, 15 have single grooves while the back rail 16 has double grooves, which are stepped to provide a rabbet 17 on which, and on flanges 18 of the rails 14, 15, the glass forming the top of the case &c. rests. One of the grooves in each standard 3, 4 contains fixing bolts 19 which pass through the base 9 and through L-shaped blocks 20, preferably brazed in position in the corner joints of the frame, and screw into similar blocks in the upper frame 2. The blocks may have lugs 21 to register with the grooves in the standards 3, 4. The case may be mounted on adjustable legs.
