Abstract
191,614. Haber, E. Jan. 13, 1922. Plate apparatus.-In a heat-exchanger working on the cross-current principle of the type in which the plates have angular incisions 4 at the corners, the edges of the plates are bent alternately upward and downward at some distance from the base line of the angular incisions. The edges are pressed together by hollow bolts 9 having holes 13 so that the cells thus formed may be cleaned bv blowing steam through them, and corner-pieces 7, Fig. 3, are placed in the incisions 4 to separate the cells. Undulated strips of sheet metal 8 serve to alter continuously the direction of the currents. A number of elements may be connected together either directly or by tubular connectors.
