382,098. Gilled tubes for heat exchangers. SOC. ANON. MANUFACTURE GENERALE METALLURGIQUE, 102, Avenue des Anciens Etangs, Forest, Brussels. Nov. 23, 1931, No. 32400. Convention date, Nov. 28, 1930. [Class 64 (iii).] Heat-exchange apparatus comprises tubes a, Figs. 1 and 4, upon which are threaded corrugated plates or fins b, the tubes intersecting several corrugations and being expanded to make firm contact with the fins. The tubes may be of circular or elliptical cross section, and the crests of the corrugations of adjacent plates may contact with one another. In a modification, the parts of the fins intercepted by the tubes are formed with small corrugations c, Fig. 6, In another arrangement, fins having small corrugations are disposed between fins having larger corrugations. Fig. 9 shows an arrangement in which the corrugations intercepted by the tubes are puckered.
