Vehicle windows.-The side curtains of motor-vehicle hoods have certain sections or portions of sections pivoted about a vertical axis on spring hinges to allow of ready access to the inside handles and to facilitate signalling by the driver. Fig. 1 shows a side curtain with the front portion 2 of the rear section 3 left open, and closed by an outwardly opening light 4 on a wire frame 5 pivoted on spring hinges 6 in lugs 7 on the portion 2. The front section may have rods entering sockets in the door, or, alternatively, may be spring hinged at the forward side and overlap the door to open therewith. The door sections may also be divided vertically, the parts being connected by a spring hinge socketed in the door.
