Actuating.-The operating-devices of the gas cock of a soldering-iron heating stove are arranged so that the iron q can be allowed to remain on or in the stove without turning on the gas, which, however, is cut off whenever the iron is removed. The handle q of the iron p rests on an arm e, which is moved by a forward movement of the handle q so as to turn on the gas. If it is desired that the iron should remain in the stove and that the gas should be cut off, the handle q is raised, when the weight c turns the cock so as to cut off the gas.
