Grates.-In a " barless " fire-place, the part B is pivoted at C, so that when in the position shown, it forms the usual roll finish to the fire-grate, but when turned through 180 degrees its underside forms with the part A a flat support or table for utensils. In this position, it is supported by lugs on the part A working in grooves J in the cheeks of the fire-grate, or by other convenient devices, such as legs formed on the curved surface of the part A and bearing on the hearth.
