Grates; supports for articles to be heated or warmed.-In a domestic fire-place having a substantially vertical barless fire-breast, there is provided a fall-bar E adapted to serve as a trivet, as shown in dotted lines, or to lie behind the fire-breast, of which it then forms the top. The fall-bar has pintles D sliding in grooves in the jambs of the grate, or the ends of the fall bar may be grooved to engage pins on the jambs, and when in the trivet position it is supported by inwardly-projecting lugs G and by the pintles D engaging the tops of the grooves. The fall-bar may be solid or perforated.
