Abstract

11,470. Stanley, G. E. Aug. 9. Lubricant conveying by fluid.-An internal-combustion engine, particularly of the two stroke-cycle type is lubricated by oil admitted to the outlet pipe of the carburettor by a valve coupled to the throttle valve or air valve. A sliding-piston throttle F carries a tapered valve G controlling the entrance of oil from a pipe C, so that the oil supply varies with the throttle opening. In a modification, the oil drips into the inlet pipe A through a conical valve placed at the side of the piston F, and actuated directly by it, or by a connexion with the throttleoperating wire F<2>.
