Submarine vessels; life-boats.-In life-saving appliances for submarines and other vessels, of the kind wherein a small closed vessel or pontoon is detachably secured to the submarine &c., the closed vessel A is provided with fore and aft air chambers a<1>, a<2> raised above the thwarts, the middle or intermediate part being provided with a water-tight cover B. The boat may be held between spring- actuated devices G, carried by brackets F, which secure it against lateral movement, but allow vertical movement when the boat is released by removing the screws E or other known means.
