Abstract

124,088. Humphreys, W. H. April 13, 1918. Protecting; casings.--To protectthe hull of a ship against the effects of torpedoes and mines, or other shocks, its exterior is provided with a completely-enclosed water-filled jacket, forming either a continuous or subdivided compartment from the keel to the water-line or above. Relief valves may be provided, and the exterior plates may be made slightly resilient. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 4205/06.. 114,511, and 118,483.
