121,164. Akhoona, D. J., Pudumjee, H. D., and Mehta, P. M. Nov. 30, 1917. Protecting.-Ships or vessels, with the object of rendering them unsinkable when struck by a mine, torpedo, &c., are built with a double hull a, b subdivided into watertight compartments c in combination with a central well or caisson d containing the boilers and machinery. Between the caisson and the double hull the hold is divided at the sea level by a floor f below which sea water has access through holes c in the bottom.
