Abstract

Pockets are attached to the garment by means of a horizontal stay l, Figs. 18 and 19, which extends from the front facing b at each side of the front to the side seam m. The invention applies more particularly to the attachment of the inner pocket g, which is of the " Hare type, and is folded over with the stay and sewn down at p to the coat &c., the lower edge of the stay being also sewn to the coat. The inner side of the Hare pocket is folded over and receives a button-hole reinforce i, through which passes a button q for holding the pocket closed. The outer pocket d is of ordinary construction. A line of vertical felling f<1> is placed at each side of the inner pocket, and where the ordinary pocket is on the inside of the coat, entry is made to it from the outside by cutting through the stay or through the adjacent coat material, as shown in Fig. 29. In this case, an additional strengthening-piece t is provided.
