Abstract

8405. Longsdon, H. C., and Middlebrook, H. June 7. Washing-plungers.-Comprises a particular construction of washing-plunger of the kind in which a cone is provided exteriorly with hooded holes and is divided horizontally in its interior into two or more communicating chambers, the lowest chamber being fitted with a soap-box having a detachable lid. In the present construction, the cone is divided into two compartments communicating directly through a ring of holes d<1> and indirectly through the soap-box. The cylindrical soap-box is provided with holes b<1> through the lid and at the upper end, and is surrounded by a circular plate h fitted with holes h<1>. The hoods m are made wedge-shaped as shown, and are arranged to lie close to the surface of the cone.
