Washing-plungers.-A conical metal body a is divided into two chambers r, v by an horizontal partition b, to which extends a socket i. formed of a seamless tube, for the handle j. A set of long external hoods o, Fig. 5, is arranged over apertures n in the surface of the upper chamber, and shorter and wider hoods t, Fig. 4, are arranged over a lower set of apertures s. Within the lower chamber short narrow hoods u, Fig. 4, and w, Fig. 5, are fitted, the hoods w communicating through holes c with the upper chamber. Apertures q are provided in the long external hoods, below the apertures n, and lift valves e, Fig. 6, are fitted to seats d in the partition b, the valve stems f being guided in bridge-pieces g. A perforated soap box l with a removable screwed cover m depends from the centre of the partition. According to the Provisional Specification, two horizontal partitions are fitted and form a chamber within the plunger.
