Abstract
156,073. Schworetzky, G., and Graaff, C. Dec. 31, 1919, [Convention date]. Addition to 148,227. Fire - extinguishing by foam. -In methods and devices of the kind described in the parent Specification for producing foam for fire-extinguishing &c., the pressure water is introduced through an inlet w into an annular chamber k and passes by the shortest possible path in an upward direction through oblique slits in fixed and movable plates n, p, the slits being so arranged that the water lifts the movable plate p and is at the same time given a rotary motion before coming into contact with the chemical powder in the upper compartment. The water thus impregnated passes by the shortest possible path through passages, opened by the raising of the plate p, into an annular chamber k<1>, and thence passes with a rotary motinn into contact with the second chemical powder in the lower compartment, the foam produced being discharged through a central tube r. When a more fluid foam is required, additional water is admitted from the annular chamber k through a valve v<1> into an annular chamber k<11> and thence into the lower compartment.
