Abstract
6068. Yvonneau, C. E. April 22. Generating by direct contact of furnace gases and the like.- Rotary and reciprocating engines and turbines are worked by mixed products of combustion and steam produced in a generator 16, in which a jet of liquid fuel from a nozzle 20 meets a jet of compressed air from the nozzle 19, and is ignited by the heat of compression thereof. The burnt gases are cooled by a jet of water which enters at 28 and is converted into steam.
