Abstract
4936. Parker, J. T. March 30. Balancing automatically. The lateral balance of an aeroplane is maintained by tiltable planes 7, 8 arranged above or between the main planes and controlled through the cords shown, by a laterally swinging pendulum body 3. The cords are attached below the point of suspension of the pendulum. The upper edges 4 of the pendulum are bevelled to limit its swinging movement.
