Abstract

4374. Grandi, A. March 19. Gauge glasses and the like.-A valve cock for use in gauges to effect an automatic closure comprises a ball valve 2 mounted loosely on a crank-arm 3 of the operating-spindle 4, the valve seating being vertical. When the operating-lever is in the position of closure, the valve will remain open normally, by gravity, but will close automatically in the event of a rapid flow of fluid through the conduit.
