Valves controlled from a distance.-A valve device which automatically closes when the flow ceases, and remains closed until opened by hand, comprises a light hinged flap h which is normally held by the fluid flow against a stop k, but which falls against the seat m when the supply is interrupted. To re-open the flap, the cock b must be closed and opened again, whereupon a projection c on the plug engages a projection f on the flap to press it open.
