Abstract

1362. Crandall, J. E. April 10, 1913, [Convention date]. Guides and rests.-In a machine of the kind described in Specification 4481/14, the strip 77, undergoing grinding by the two wheels 31 and supported at one end by a mova le carriage 38 whereby it is fed between the wheels, is prevented from vibrating exce-sively by means of two adjustable rods 74, 75, one on one side of the strip and between the carriage and the grinding-wheels, and the other on the other side of the strip and on the side of the grinding-wheels remote from the carriage. The rods are adjusted so as to be just out of contact with the strips unless this vibrates. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) comprises also the use of one or two grinding - wheels for grinding an elongated article moved to or between the wheels, and antivibrator means located at one side of the article ; this subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
