Band apparatus. - An endless-band surfacing-machine, comprising a band f passing over a bed a, is constructed with an angularly adjustable work - rest i swinging door-like from pivot pins i<2> near the bed. The rest is adjustable by means of a gauge plate j on a saddle h, which is adjustable along the machine bed. The rest has flush ends at i<3> so that it will accommodate work of a size greater than its horizontal length and will permit work held against it to be travelled completely across the band.
