Cigar-making machines. - In a machine for wrapping cigars between a. supply table 2, 3 and rollers 8, 9, 5, 6, (1) the roller 9 is carried by an arm 10, which is normally raised by a spring, but which is pulled down by the tensioning of the driving - band 4 produced by depression of a foot-lever 13 and connecting- rods 14 and the consequent drawing-together of rollers 12 on arms 15 pressed apart by a spring, (2) the rollers 8, 9 and the end of the table are shaped to the particular cigar and can be replaced by others, the part 3 of the table being removably hinged to the part 2, (3) each cigar core is held at the tips between correspondlingly-shaped chamfered lower jaws 21 adjustably spaced apart to the length of the cigar, and upper spring- pressed jaws 18 on arms pivoted to the slides of the jaws 21, (4) the driving-pulley 11 is connected to the ma.in driving - shaft by a spring coupling, (5) the supporting- rollers 5, 6 are vertically adjustable by a screw 7, while the roller 8 is not adjustable.
