[Class 130] In a machine for making cigar or like bunches comprising cutting rollers 6, 7 movable over a leaf-cutting die 8 positioned in front of a bunch-rolling table 1 to which the cut leaf is transferred, the cutting die is positioned near the front end of a supply table 5 for tobacco leaves and between this table and a receiver 23 for bunches delivered at the front end of the rolling table 1. As shown, the rollers 6, 7 are mounted on arms 9, 10 connected by tension springs 47, Fig. 5, to an arm 12 pivoted to the arm 9 and provided with a roller 13 bearing against the underside of a bar 11. The arms 9, 10 are each provided with a roller 40 bearing on the bar 11 and pivoted to a lever 15 actuated through links from a cam 17 on the shaft 16. The cutting die 8 may be mounted on a rod 37 moved up and down, by a lever 38 and cam 39, into an upper leaf-applying position and a lower cutting position. The cut binder is transferred to the rolling table 1 by a carrier 18 pivoted on a hollow arm 24 on a rock shaft 26 journalled in a bracket 25 and actuated through levers and links 41 .. 44 from a cam 45 on the shaft 16. A link 27 connected to arms 28, 29 on the bracket 25 and the carrier 18 maintains the suction surface of the carrier parallel to a flat portion of the surface of the table 1.
