[Class 130] In a cigarette-delivery mechanism the means described in the parent Specification for gripping each cigarette and arresting its axial movement, comprises, according to the present invention a suction drum 6 which rotates about an axis above and parallel to the axis of the line of cigarettes carried by a belt 3. After the suction has been cut off, the cigarettes are loosened from flutes 7 in the drum 6 by a stationary guide 10 and roll down a downwardly inclined portion of the guide on to a belt 5.
