Abstract

983. McCrae, T. Jan. 21. Ventilators.-A roof ventilator of the kind consisting of a base or frame with angular sides, a glazed or other closed top, and an open front, all in one piece or fitted together as a single unit, is fitted with a centrally pivoted valve or set of louvers. Fig. 2 shows a ventilator consisting of a base or frame 1 attached by lugs 3 to the. roof. It has vertical sides 6, a glazed top 7, a valve 4 on pivots 5, and a gutter 8 with drainage apertures 9. In modifications, the pivots are fitted in caps screwed to the sides 6, which may be glazed. The top may be inclined in the same direction as, or in the opposite direction to, the roof. In modifications, the sides 6 are screwed to the base 1, which may be in sections connected to the front by the bases of chann.el-section uprights, which support a sectional glazed roof and a series of valves.
