Abstract

191,452. Lloyd, H. G. Oct. 10, 1921. Concrete paving and flooring.-A floor or paving for tennis courts consists of a concrete or other base and a porous top layer composed of sand, whereof the grains are rounded and are of approximately the same size, and cement in a quantity insufficient to fill completely the voids between the grains of sand. As an example, 3 or 4 parts by weight of sand may be mixed with 1 part by weight of cement, and just sufficient water to bind the mixture. Draining channels may be formed in the base. Either or both layers may be made up in slabs of the size and shape described in Specification 182,833, and the surface may be coloured during manufacture or after the layers are laid. Marking lines may be made of the same material as the floor, or may include white marble. Specifications 15596/87, [Class 107, Roads &c.], 1551/92, and 5571/99, [Class 22, Cements &c.], are referred to.
