Transformers.-In electric transformers such as are used in measuring-instruments, the transformation ratio is adjusted to any required exactness by arranging that an adjustable portion of the secondary winding is traversed by part only of the total magnetic flux, or by varying that part of the flux which traverses the adjustable part of the secondary winding, or by both these methods combined. As shown, the core b is formed with one or more holes e, through which turns d of the secondary winding can be led. Adjustment can be obtained by the selection of the hole through which the turns d are passed, or by varying the number of turns through a particular hole.
