Abstract
11,161. Turner, J., and Turner, I. May 6. Stop-motions, shuttle; loose-reed motions.-When the shuttle fails to enter the shuttle box, the boxswell permits a bell-crank lever n, Fig. 3, on the stop-rod s to strike a projection h<1> fixed to a short shaft h, thus turning this shaft. A cam c, Fig. 1, then acts on a levar f to lower a wooden locking-rod l, and causes a link m to turn a wrought-iron bar or reed-case r, of the form shown, about end pivots p, thus completely freeing the reed b. The shaft h carries an arm which moves the starting-handle and causes stoppage of the loom. The rod l is normally held up by a spring.
