8433. Wilson, J. B. April 3. Circular-flow type; working-fluid supply.-A duplex hydraulic turbine comprises a rotor 28 having peripheral pockets 29 formed by partitions 31, 32, 33. The pockets co-operate with recesses 39, 44 in the casing to form two circular-flow turbines, one on each side of the casing partition 26. Suitable supply and exhaust pipes are provided. The shaft 22 is supported by a footstep bearing and an upper bearing, the latter being readily dismountable. The water may be heated before passing to the turbine. Fig. 13 shows a device for heating it by means of the exhaust gases of a gas-engine. The water is supplied to the chamber 109 and passes by a pipe 107 to the turbine. The exhaust gases enter at 105 and leave at 106. A pipe 104 may connect the chambers 108, 109.
